Our final day in Boston was unseasonably warm under clear blue skies. We used the T line and went into town to explore some of the sights. We lunched in the park, the kids rode the carousel and we saw some sights. Despite being an enormously significant place for American history, we were possibly more excited about having our photo taken out the front of "Cheers" the bar used by the sitcom of the same name. In truth, the exterior was used, the interior didn't - and never had. The national monuments were still all closed anyway!

We wandered down Commonwealth Avenue and on to Trinity church. A truly spectacular building both inside and out. Afterwards, we strolled back up through the park and caught the T line back, where we had to say a sad farewell to Garry and Tammy. We had a fantastic time with them, and possibly the longest we had ever managed to have. Trips to the opposite side of the world just don't happen as often as you would like...

We boarded the Acela express and headed back to New York as the sun set.
